Research Areas

Cell junction, mainly between epithelial cells, is the structural basis of cellular networks and an important organizational mode of synergistic interaction between adjacent cells in multicellular organisms. Disruption of cell junction homeostasis often leads to pathological change in multicellular organisms. Our main research work is to study the molecular mechanism involved in regulating cell junction homeostasis by using cells and animal models, including: (1) the role of microtubules and autophagy in the regulation of cell junction homeostasis, (2) the molecular mechanism of the occurrence and development of cell junction-related diseases. Our research has been funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Role of autophagy in HIV gp120-induced intestinal epithelial permeability and related molecular mechanisms, 31701209), the Cultivation Fund of Shandong Normal University, and the Postdoctoral Innovation Fund of Shandong Province.

Key words:Cell junction, cytoskeleton, microtubule, microtubule-binding protein, autophagy
