Research Areas

We are interested in the fundamental research involving the cytoskeleton, autophagy, cell membrane and organelles, exploring the functions and mechanisms of the related organelles. We are especially interested in exploring the morphology and function of the microtubule-related structure, cilium. Our current study focuses on the molecular mechanisms of protein modifications and protein interactions underlying cilia assembling and disassembling, with a goal to understand how cilia play a role in physiological and pathological processes. We hope to explore the molecular mechanisms underlying ciliopathies and related diseases. We are also interested in the constitution and transduction of the related signal pathways, investigating how they are regulated. With cytological, biochemical and molecular methods, we hope to interpret the functions and mechanisms of the cilium-related signal pathways.

Key words:Cytoskeleton, cilium, cell membrane and organelle, signal transduction, ciliopathy
